Black Gate Apera Vatting (Bottled August 2020) - 47%ABV - 30ml / 50ml of

Black Gate is located in Mendooran, Central West New South Wales about 45 minutes from Dubbo. This new bottling is a vatting of three 100 litre ex Apera (sherry) casks from McWilliams Winery in South Australia. The barrels were re-coopered by SA Cooperage.

The spirit used was an unpeated Australian pale malt and which was matured for a minimum of 4 years in these three barrels. The spirit when ready was taken from the barrels and combined and left to flock out for 2 months delivering a rich smooth and flavoursome whisky unlike any other that is being produced locally.
