Arran Machrie Moor 10y/o 46%ABV 30ml

Machrie Moor is peated Arran distilled at the Lochranza Distillery home of Arran Whisky. It may soon be a curiosity as Arran has opened a new distillery called Lagg which will focus on making peated whiskies and Arran will focus solely on unpeated whiskies. Arran was the first legal distillery on the Isle of Arran since 1837, however in the past the island was famous for several legendary illegal small distilleries notably one called Lagg which was closed in 1840 and now has had its name revived for the new distillery. So try some peated Arran from Lochranza these are among the last peated expressions that will be released.

Official Tasting Notes

Nose: Freshly baked apple pie, slight touch of peppery spice 

Pallet: Barley, sweet BBQ sauce, hints of cinnamon spice with peat smoke

Finish: Medium finish of sweet honey and citrus
