Floki 3y/o Sheep Dung Smoked Reserve Icelandic Single Malt Whisky 47%ABV 30ml

The Floki Sheep Dung Smoked Reserve is an unusual Icelandic single malt whisky. Instead of the typical smoking of the malt over peat, the Eimverk distillery uses smoking over sheep dung. The whisky then matures for 3 years in fresh oak barrels. It is bottled naturally at 47.0% ABV. The result is a whisky that is certainly not for everyone.

• Nosing: The whisky from Barrel 63 is sweet on the nose. It smells of muesli and herbs. Damp hay is present. Fruity notes of plums come through.
• Tasting: The Floki Sheep Dung Smoked Reserve is mild and soft on the tongue. It has notes of grain and wood. Pepper provides spiciness and fruity notes of oranges and lemons come through. A fine smoky note lingers in the background.
• Finish: The finish of the whisky from Barrel 63 is long-lasting and spicy. Notes of cloves and light sweetness remain after drinking.
