This limited edition Glenmorangie release was produced to celebrate the opening of their experimental distillery, The Lighthouse, in September 2021. This expression has been laid down to mature for at least 12 years in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks before. Just 4,782 bottles produced at a strength of 48% abv. free from chill filtration. Difficult dram to find as lots of people collecting this commemorative bottle and not cracking it - try it here.

Bonfire with Mermaids

Some lovely ocean spray and subtle smoke on the nose. More of the ocean than the fire on the nose at least. Sweet upfront and then a little prickly, but beautifully done. Apricot jam which reveals freshly cracked black pepper, that smoothens into cured meats and honey. This dram gives a charcuterie board alongside a cigar. A taster is well worthwhile as this has certainly moved me towards buying a bottle.

If you were on the fence it’s worth it

Reasonably high peat and smoke & finishes quite nicely. Pair with blue cheese & dried apricots & BBQ
