Secret Speyside 26y/o East Village Whisky Company 49.7%ABV 30ml

Another Secret Speyside (probably Glenrothes) from the German indie bottler East Village Whisky Company.

Nose - Mint sauce and lamb gravy, plum and honeydew melon

Palate - Stewed apple, some sulphury notes, tart slightly unripe apricot, christmas spices

Finish - some sharp mineral and metallic notes, Ayran - Turkish fermented yoghurt drink, oaky spice and herbs - mouthfeel is a little strange and makes your mouth water a lot.

Some people are sensitive to sulphur and won't like this as it has a touch of the devil on the nose and palate. On first tasting I was a little confused as I thought it was a sherry bomb based on the colour but it has a tartness that makes your mouth water a lot and a slight fizz on the tongue like a fermented yoghurt drink. Then I had an urge to pour another dram because its quite interesting and a little challenging.
