The Lakes won Worlds Best Whisky award in 2024. The Distillery was founded by Paul Currie who also founded Arran Distillery in Scotland with his father. After selling Arran, Paul was on holiday in the Lake District in England and saw an old Dairy farm in an idyllic spot that had been derelict for 20 years and it had a 160 year old barn with high ceilings perfect for a whisky still and the idea of the Lakes Distillery was born

Aroma

Dried sultanas, roasted macadamia nuts, chocolate malt, autumn leaves

On the palate

Light and fruity, blackcurrants, woodspice, chocolate coated coffee beans

Finishing notes

Long and almost malty with hints of cinnamon and nutmeg
