This Caskhound AKA Tilo Schnabel is an independent bottler from Germany that started releasing independent bottlings and offering cask shares to his friends in 2017. Tilo has a Deerhound dog and he put an illustrations of a deerhounds on his bottles by the Scottish artist Lana Mattieson. Things really took off for Caskhound about 2 years ago when he put other humorous illustrations of Scottish animals by on the whisky labels. In 2024, they have released about 20 whiskies for the 'Animals of Scotland' ' and 'Crazy Coos' series - some have been great, some have been very average but if you put a cute animal on a label in Germany it sells out in the blink of an eye. I'm a sucker for animals too - I bought all the Indie Remnant bottles that had humorous illustrations of Tasmanian Devils on the front and I had to get this bottle because I can't resist beavers.

Finish: long, very spicy and dry – an interplay of aromas of herbal honey drops, toffee, fruits, oak spice and some tobacco leaves…"
