Ballechin 10y/o 46%ABV 30ml

Ballechin is the name given to peated single malt from Edradour. Ballechin was first made in 2003 so has not been available for very long. Ballechin 10y/o is the entry level core range expression. Ballechin is probably one of the most underrated whiskies from Scotland. In the past 2 years official bottlings from the so called Kings of Peat - Laphroaig, Lagavulin and Ardbeg have been totally disappointing. For innovative and high quality peated whiskies - Ballechin has led the way along with Bruichladdich, Springbank (Longrow) and Kilchoman - releasing higher age statements and experimenting with some exceptional single casks. Most of these only really started making peated whisky relatively recently. Ballechin 10y/o is a good introduction to Highland Peat.
