Found this wee bottle in a box of books from moving house 4 or 5 years ago. It is a Slightly funky Caol Ila from Elixir - Elements of Islay range. Some earthy, mushroom notes, smoked mackeral, strange sweet sherry combined with Visne Sour Cherry juice, ash, heavy smoke - finish is a bit short and abrupt with cinnamon powder / dry oak. I remember some people picked up sulphur and 'farmy vegetable notes' and absolutely hated it...I bought another bottle. Interesting cask that polarizes people.
I've actually been wanting to taste this so I can make up my mind to buy a bottle. When I found your site and saw it had this I immediately bought some tasting samples and absolutely loved it! Will definitely invest in a bottle
Heard for a while how good Littlemill’s can be. This SMWS 30yo certainly did not disappoint, the nose on this dram was amazing.
It was a flavour packed palete, that certainly stood out as such a fine whisky.
Thanks again Horny Pony for providing some banging drams, with a great service throughout
An absolutely amazing whisky, this Imperial 24yo was flavour heaven. Could see from the second it was poured into the Glencairn that it was something special.
Also the service provided by Horny Pony was brilliant, well recommended for anyone looking for trying some special whiskies.
