Strathearn 'The Inaugural' Highland Single Malt Whisky 50%ABV 30ml

Strathearn Distillery was opened in 2013 and then acquired by the independent bottler Douglas Laing in 2019. A small distillery just outside the city of Perth in the Highlands. They are focusing on using older less commercial varieties of Barley - in this instance Maris Otter.

This first release since Douglas Laings acquisition has been dubbed 'the Inaugural' release was made from 100% Maris Otter barley, matured in 32 oak casks (a mix of ex-bourbon, ex-sherry and virgin oak) for between 6 and 8 years, bottled at 50% ABV.

TASTING NOTES
Anticipate a rich malted barley depth with gentle oak on the nose. The mouth-coating, syrupy palate brings honey and buttercream with baking spice and dried apricots. The warming finish is long with home baking and buttery oat biscuits.
